Would like step-by-step information on concrete counter tops i.e., concrete formulations & additives, color (surface stain vs solid pigment), form in place vs inverted form, form materials used. New house is coming - need info soon!

Since countertops are such a custom item, getting general information on making them is really hard. What I have found is that
there are many successful ways to go about this. Some people use lightweight aggregates, while some use normal weight.
Some use cast in place while some use precast. Some like a semi-rough finish while some like a highly polished finish. The best
general source for countertops can be found at these links, but it really isn't much help in specifics: http://www.decorative-concrete.net/countertops_how.asp
http://www.decorative-concrete.net/countertops_diy2.asp This magazine article tells how to do a cast-in-place countertop: http://www.taunton.com/fh/admin/toc/125.htm
