I just had a contractor pour me a 10x10 slab. The slab was supposed to be level because it will be used for a hot tub. It pitches towards one corner (about 1 inch over 8 foot) and has a very bad finish (like it wasn't) troweled. Can I pour over this fresh concrete? Can I just re-form the new slab? Should I go out 6 inches from the existing slab, down about three inches, and pour 3 inches of new concrete sort of capping the slab?
