I am a student at Humboldt State University and we are working on designing a better peanut sheller for the Full Belly Project. The existing peanut sheller is typically manufactured on-site, the main material constituent is concrete. A way to decrease the amount of concrete needed is one goal. Another goal is the incorporation of local resources into the concrete mix. Our project is focusing on the island of Haiti where there is a surplus of plastic bags and waste paper. A way to use these to "stretch" the mix is another option we would like to know more about. Anybody with suggestions or info?
